Red
Red is the colour of love, seduction, violence, danger, anger, celebration and adventure. That is why red is predominate on St Valentine’s Day and during the Christmas period. Several countries, including Malta, include this colour in their flag. Red is the colour associated with our national saint, St Paul. Red is a very strong bright colour. It is for this reason that is often used on signs for signaling caution or warning. In traffic red light means stop and the Association of the Red Cross uses a red cross to signal caution.

Valentine's Day is known around the world as an opportunity to celebrate love. Red, pink or white are the main colours for this feast. Red symbolises energy, passion and deep love in romantic relationships. Pink might be a better choice for a friend or family member. This colour speaks of affection, sweetness, understanding and friendship. White roses symbolises faithfulness, a valuable component in any love relationship or friendship.
Sarah and Michela created these two posters to illustrate the different meaning the colour red has on our brains. Red is used to catch our attention and send us a warning signal. A red stop sign, brake or light, an emergency situation all use RED!! But RED is also commercially used to signal us love, passion, glamour and celebration!!
